Job Description

A 911 dispatcher is a professional responsible for answering emergency calls from the public and dispatching the appropriate emergency services .
Their tasks include:
Providing emergency services to callers who dial 911. Answering calls for police, fire, ambulance, etc. Recording all incoming and outgoing calls. Keeping track of caller's location. Ensuring that phone lines are not blocked during an emergency. Giving instructions on how to handle emergencies. Taking down details of incidents in case of a crime. Making follow-up reports.
