Dispatcher

Rockville Fuel & Feed Co., Inc. is a ready-mixed concrete supplier in the Maryland and DC areas. We are looking for a qualified individual to work in our central dispatch office who will provide exceptional customer service. Benefits include overtime paid after 8 hours daily. Essential Roles:

Receive and accurately enter customer orders into the dispatching system. Confirm delivery details, job site information, quantities, and special instructions with customers to ensure order accuracy. Schedule and coordinate concrete deliveries to maximize efficiency while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. Dispatch and schedule drivers in accordance with delivery demands, DOT regulations, and company policies. Monitor delivery progress and make real-time adjustments to routes and schedules as needed. Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery status, delays, and scheduling changes. Resolve customer concerns, delivery issues, and operational challenges in a professional and timely manner. Maintain constant communication with Sales Representatives, Plant Personnel, Drivers, Maintenance Personnel, and Management to ensure safe and efficient operations. Assist in managing daily production and delivery logistics to optimize fleet utilization and service levels. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to deliveries, scheduling, and customer communications. Promote and support a culture of safety in all aspects of dispatch operations.

Qualifications and Experience:

Previous experience in dispatching, transportation logistics, ready-mix concrete operations, customer service, or a call center environment preferred. Experience in the construction materials, trucking, or transportation industry is a plus. High school diploma or equivalent required.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office applications and dispatching or scheduling software. Ability to read maps, utilize GPS and routing tools, and provide accurate directions. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt quickly to changing conditions. Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Work Environment Fast-paced dispatch office supporting ready-mixed concrete operations. Frequent interaction with customers, drivers, plant personnel, sales staff, shop staff and management. Must be available to work early mornings, occasional evenings, occasional Saturdays, and overtime as business needs require.

$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
