Towing Dispatcher - Brighton, MI - Night Shift

Position Description:

The primary function of the Towing Dispatcher is to receive and dispatch emergency and routine calls for towing, roadside service, recovery and transportation. This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Towing Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

Dispatch drivers. Maintain and confirm schedules. Collect and maintain paperwork. Oversee on-time dispatch requirements. Work with local and State law enforcement agencies to ensure that they have everything they need. Track driver pickups throughout the workday. Ensure paperwork is complete prior to dispatch and upon return. Follow up to ensure accurate communication with internal and external staff members. Anticipate potential problems and create contingency plans. Able to multitask in a loud, fast paced, high call volume environment with frequent interruptions. Able to learn software for data entry and reports and follow instruction. Follows company quality, safety and environmental guidelines as well as employee handbook policies. Able to effectively perform responsibilities under a high level of stress. Regular interaction with peers on-site, including face-to-face meetings and spontaneous conferences. Must be flexible and available to work afternoons and weekends. Good interpersonal and communication skills with a calm demeanor towards customers and co-workers. Regular and reliable attendance and presence at work. Operate in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Perform any duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications/Experience/Education:

High School graduate or equivalent required. 2+ years of dispatch experience preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, for data entry. Must have attention to detail, planning and organizational skills. Strong communication skills - verbal and written. Proficient in GPS tracking programs. Good knowledge of vehicles and local geography. Able to pass 7-year criminal background check.
