Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Metro Cars is a luxury chauffeured transportation service, servicing the Metro Detroit area for over 30 years. Metro Cars and its affiliated brands all have an impeccable reputation within the transportation industry for providing safe and reliable transportation service. Our dispatchers play a crucial role in maintaining this reputation. Using Livery coach and Icabbi systems along with 2-way radios, our dispatchers assign, monitor and provide support for 5 fleets of drivers while keeping a small group of drivers rotating through the airports to provide service to our clients. Our dispatchers control the flow and efficiency of our drivers while maintaining a professional rapport with the team. Our dispatchers must be able to problem solve, think critically and look ahead in order to plan for the upcoming trips. Primary Duties 1. Assign and monitor reservations with the chauffeurs. 2. Provide chauffeurs with route directions to specific pick-up and drop-off locations. 3. Assign follow-up runs as designated to chauffeurs. 4. Contact chauffeur and quality control when necessary, upon cancellation of a pre-assigned charter. 5. Bring problems associated with chauffeurs or clients to the attention of the Communications' Supervisor. 6. Answer incoming phone lines from drivers in need of help. 7. Assist the Customer Service Department with securing and verifying client reservations when necessary. Qualifications 1. •MUST have at least 1 yr. of
DISPATCHING EXPERIENCE
•2. Expert knowledge of Metro Detroit Area. 3. Ability to read road maps and give directions to others. 4. Ability to conduct several tasks concurrently. 5. Ability to effectively communicate, in English, both orally and in writing. 6. Basic knowledge and experience with using a computerized information database. 7. Ability to effectively communicate using a two-way radio. 8. Friendly, courteous disposition. 9. Experience within a courier or taxi dispatch environment. 10. Must be able to work weekends and holidays in a 24/7 environment. •
