Dispatch Supervisor - Millwork Operations Reporting Structure Reports to:
Millwork Manager Supervises:

Works Closely With:
Millwork Production Supervisors, Shop Leads, Scheduling/Planning, Maintenance, Customer Service, and Order Management Position Summary The Dispatch Supervisor - Millwork Operations is responsible for overseeing daily dispatch activities for millwork products, supervising drivers, and ensuring the efficient scheduling and coordination of deliveries. This role works closely with the Millwork Manager and production teams to align shop production schedules with delivery commitments for doors, windows, cabinets, trim, and other millwork components. The Dispatch Manager ensures all delivery trucks and material‑handling equipment are maintained in safe, reliable working condition while supporting on‑time, damage‑free delivery to customers and job sites. Preferred Skills Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word Experience in dispatch, logistics, transportation, or operations within a millwork, manufacturing, or building materials environment preferred. Supervisory experience overseeing drivers or shop/operations staff. Strong understanding of millwork products, production flow, and job site delivery requirements. Excellent organizational, scheduling, and problem‑solving skills. Knowledge of transportation safety regulations and equipment maintenance practices. Soft Skills Clear, professional communicator with drivers, production teams, and leadership Calm and effective under pressure in fast‑paced, changing environments Strong problem‑solver with the ability to adapt schedules and priorities quickly Confident leader who holds teams accountable while building trust Highly organized with attention to detail and follow‑through Collaborative, customer‑focused approach to resolving delivery challenges Key Responsibilities Dispatch & Delivery Scheduling Schedule and coordinate daily deliveries of millwork products, including doors, windows, cabinetry, trim packages, and custom millwork. Plan delivery routes based on production completion dates, job site requirements, load sequencing, and truck capacity. Adjust delivery schedules to accommodate changes in shop production, order revisions, backorders, or job site constraints. Monitor deliveries in progress and address issues related to delays, damage, or access limitations at job sites. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Driver Supervision Supervise company drivers responsible for transporting millwork products to customers, builders, and job sites. Assign routes and delivery loads to ensure safe handling of finished millwork and efficient use of equipment. Ensure drivers follow proper loading, strapping, and handling procedures to prevent product damage. Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance evaluations of drivers. Production & Shop Coordination Work closely with the Millwork Manager, production supervisors, and shop leads to align production schedules with delivery timelines. Communicate delivery priorities and cutoff times to ensure orders are completed, staged, and ready for shipment. Assist in coordinating staging, wrapping, and sequencing of millwork products for efficient loading and delivery. Support continuous improvement efforts between production and dispatch to reduce delays and re‑handling. Fleet & Equipment Management Ensure delivery trucks, trailers, forklifts, carts, racks, and strapping equipment are maintained in good working order. Coordinate routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs for fleet and material‑handling equipment. Ensure compliance with DOT, safety, and company requirements related to transportation and equipment use. Operational Oversight & Reporting Maintain accurate dispatch schedules, delivery documentation, and driver logs. Track delivery performance, damage claims, and service issues related to millwork shipments. Provide regular reports and updates to the Millwork Manager regarding delivery status, fleet condition, and staffing needs. Identify opportunities to improve delivery efficiency, reduce product damage, and enhance customer satisfaction. Working Conditions Office‑based with frequent interaction with production floor personnel and drivers. Regular presence in shop and yard areas. May require early mornings or schedule flexibility to support millwork production and delivery schedules.
