Job Description

Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM Magnum is hiring a Dispatcher to coordinate driver movements, maximize fleet utilization, and support efficient overnight transportation operations. This role is responsible for balancing load assignments with driver availability while ensuring freight moves safely, efficiently, and on time. The Dispatcher works closely with Dedicated Operations, driver managers, customer service teams, and account management to support operational profitability, driver satisfaction, and customer service excellence. What You'll Do Assign and coordinate loads to maximize driver utilization, minimize downtime, and improve operational efficiency Monitor driver hours of service (HOS) and ensure all assignments remain DOT and FMCSA compliant Collaborate with driver managers to optimize driver schedules, fleet capacity, and equipment utilization Communicate load updates, schedule changes, delays, and operational information to drivers and internal teams Prioritize driver home time requests and support work/life balance initiatives when possible Analyze operational data to improve profitability, reduce empty miles, and increase overall network efficiency Partner with customer service and account management teams to prioritize profitable freight opportunities and support customer expectations Provide quick and effective solutions to issues involving drivers, customers, freight, equipment, or network constraints Track and manage trailer assets, drop yard utilization, and fleet productivity Monitor and report on KPIs related to driver utilization, on-time delivery, profitability, and operational efficiency Identify operational trends and improvement opportunities to support continuous process improvement Prepare operational and performance reports for leadership and management teams Maintain clear and professional communication with drivers, operations teams, and leadership to support smooth overnight operations This is a full-time position with a complete benefits package available, including: Health Insurance with HSA/FSA Options Company Paid Life Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401(k) Retirement Plan Paid Time Off (PTO) and Paid Holidays Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Ideal candidates have:
Minimum 2 years of experience in transportation operations Strong understanding of driver utilization, hours of service (HOS), DOT regulations, and compliance requirements Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Proven ability to improve operational efficiency and profitability using data-driven decision-making Experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and related logistics technology platforms Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines Ability to work collaboratively with drivers, operations teams, customer service, and leadership Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions Work Environment & Physical Requirements This position is performed in a combination of office and transportation operations environments, where employees regularly communicate with drivers, customers, and internal teams. The role requires extended periods of sitting or standing, along with continuous communication and coordination throughout the day. Employees must be able to maintain organization and professionalism in a fast-paced environment, occasionally lift or carry up to 25 pounds, and travel as needed. Depending on the work setting, there may be exposure to environmental conditions such as noise, temperature variations, or workplace hazards.
