Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule pickups, deliveries, and shipments using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine. Utilize GPS and GIS tools to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve delivery efficiency. Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, warehouse staff, and clients via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette. Enter accurate data related to freight movements, shipping & receiving logs, and dispatch records into relevant systems like AS400 and transportation management platforms. Monitor fleet management systems to ensure timely dispatching of freight and troubleshoot scheduling conflicts or delays proactively. Collaborate with supply chain teams to plan transportation routes aligned with logistics strategies and customer expectations. Maintain detailed documentation of dispatch activities, incident reports, and shipment statuses for audit purposes. Experience Proven experience in dispatching within a logistics or transportation environment. Familiarity with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms. Strong analysis skills to interpret GPS data, GIS mapping tools, and fleet reports for route optimization. Knowledge of freight operations including shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management, and 3PL (third-party logistics) coordination. Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally while demonstrating effective phone etiquette. Proficiency in data entry with high accuracy using systems like AS400 or SyteLine. Experience working with transportation planning tools such as GPS tracking systems, supply chain software, or related logistics applications is highly desirable.
