Your expertise will drive operational excellence while creating memorable customer experiences. Dennis & Co is a Dispatcher Shop Manager oversees the daily workflow of the service department. They assign repair orders to technicians based on skill levels, coordinate parts availability, and manage shop productivity to meet profitability goals and customer satisfaction.

Core Responsibilities:

Shop Flow & Dispatching Optimize Workflow:

Assign repair orders to technicians using the optimal balance of skill levels and availability.

Monitor Progress:

Track the status of every vehicle in the shop to ensure the department meets estimated completion times.

Parts Coordination:

Work directly with the Parts Department to ensure necessary components are ordered, received, and staged prior to starting work.

Handle Comebacks:

Prioritize and monitor all rework or "comeback" jobs to guarantee prompt resolution.

Management & Leadership Team Leadership:

Supervise technicians, service advisors, and shop porters. Provide coaching and performance evaluations.

Scheduling:

Create technician schedules to ensure proper coverage during peak service hours and seasonal rushes.

Liaison Duties:

Act as the central communication link between Service Advisors, the Parts Department, and the Service Director.

Compliance & Dealership Standards Quality Assurance:

Review hard copies of completed repair orders to ensure assigned work was performed properly and documented accurately.

Software Management:

Utilize Dealer Management Systems (DMS) such as CDK, Reynolds and Reynolds, or Xtime to track metrics and log repair statuses.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Stellantis experience CDK experience Dispatching experience Strong individuals will be able to keep track of all technicians and their hours they produce daily.

Experience:

Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in an automotive dealership service department, ideally as a service advisor, shop foreman, or dispatcher.

Technical Knowledge:

Strong understanding of automotive repair processes, flat-rate times, and diagnostic procedures.

Software Skills:

Proficiency in dealership software (DMS) and modern dispatch boards.

Soft Skills:

Exceptional multi-tasking, conflict resolution, and stress-management skills in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
