Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Dispatcher to join our transportation and logistics team. In this vital role, you will coordinate the movement of freight, manage dispatch operations, and ensure timely delivery across various locations. Your proactive communication skills and attention to detail will help optimize routes, improve efficiency, and support our supply chain operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of transportation management, ensuring seamless coordination between carriers, drivers, and clients. Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule pickups and deliveries using transportation management systems (TMS) such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine. Utilize GPS and GIS technologies to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and monitor fleet performance. Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, and clients via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette. Enter data accurately into systems like AS400 and transportation management platforms to ensure real-time updates on freight status. Monitor shipment progress, troubleshoot delays or issues, and provide timely updates to stakeholders. Manage shipping & receiving documentation, including freight manifests and delivery confirmations. Support logistics operations by analyzing data for route efficiency improvements and assisting in transportation planning efforts. Skills Strong understanding of GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS technology, and transportation management systems. Excellent communication skills with the ability to relay information clearly over multi-line phone systems. Proficient in data entry, typing, and using software such as Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, and AS400. Knowledge of freight logistics, shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management, and 3PL (third-party logistics) providers. Analysis skills to evaluate transportation data for operational improvements. Experience with transportation planning tools and supply chain processes.
