  • Full-time
  • Hourly, overtime eligible Reports to the Dispatch Manager
  • Joining a three-person Dispatch Team About Store & Haul Store & Haul is a second-generation, family-owned food-grade bulk liquid transportation and tank-wash company based in Van Wert, OH.
Since 1991 we've grown from a small regional carrier into a trusted logistics partner for major food manufacturers, hauling food-grade bulk liquids across the Midwest and East. We run a fleet of tractors and stainless steel tankers with our own wash bays and depot facilities, and we're known for a serious commitment to safety, quality, and compliance. We're a family business that takes care of our drivers and our customers — and we're growing our Dispatch Team. About the role You'll join our three-person Dispatch Team, reporting to the Dispatch Manager.
This is a flexible role:
you'll be cross-trained on both sides of dispatch — building and running the schedule and managing drivers day to day — so you can step into either seat as the team needs. You'll coordinate local, regional, and OTR drivers running primarily through Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Missouri, and Illinois. If you can keep trucks loaded, drivers informed, and customers updated all at once, this is your seat. What you'll do Build and manage the daily/weekly load board across local, regional, and OTR lanes; match drivers and equipment to loads based on location, hours-of-service, equipment type, and delivery windows Confirm pickup and delivery appointments with customers, shippers, and receivers Adjust schedules in real time for delays, breakdowns, weather, wash-bay timing, and last-minute orders Act as the first point of contact for drivers on routes, paperwork, and issues Monitor hours-of-service / ELD compliance (we run Samsara) so every assignment keeps drivers legal Coordinate with maintenance and the wash bay on equipment and tanker availability Keep dispatch records accurate and hand clean paperwork (BOLs, PODs) to billing What we're looking for 2+ years in dispatch, logistics coordination, or driver-facing operations (trucking/hauling preferred) Working knowledge of DOT and hours-of-service rules Comfortable learning and working in a custom-built dispatch system; experience with Samsara is a strong plus Google Sheets experience is a definite plus Tanker and/or food-grade freight experience is a plus Calm, clear communicator who can juggle competing priorities under pressure Strong attention to detail and solid geographic/routing sense Schedule & on-call This is a full-time role averaging about 45 hours per week, with overtime paid for all hours over 40. The position also requires being on call outside of normal business hours to handle driver and load issues as they come up. Please apply only if you're comfortable with that expectation. Pay & benefits $22.00-$30.00 per hour, based on experience (overtime eligible) Health insurance 401(k) with 4% company match Paid time off and paid vacation Company-paid life insurance policy Work from home one day per week once fully trained How to apply Apply through Indeed with your resume. A brief note on your dispatch or driver-management experience — especially any tanker or food-grade work — is a plus.
