Full-Time Job Summary Central Avenue Transportation Services is seeking an experienced and dependable Remote School Bus Dispatcher to support daily transportation operations. This position requires morning dispatch coverage beginning at 5:00 AM, afternoon dispatch coverage beginning at 2:30 PM, and availability during the day to coordinate field trips, driver assignments, and transportation requests. The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and possesses excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Schedule Morning Shift:
5:00 AM -
Completion of Morning Routes Afternoon Shift:
2:30 PM - Completion of Afternoon Routes and Activities Daytime Availability Required for: Field Trip Coordination Driver Coverage Route Changes Transportation Requests Responsibilities Dispatch and monitor school bus routes daily. Communicate with drivers, schools, parents, and management. Track buses using GPS and dispatch software. Coordinate substitute drivers and route coverage. Manage route delays, breakdowns, and emergency situations. Schedule and coordinate field trips and special transportation requests. Maintain dispatch logs and transportation records. Ensure all routes are staffed and operating efficiently. Support after-school activities and athletic transportation. Qualifications Required Previous dispatching, logistics, transportation, or fleet management experience. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently in a remote environment. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Reliable internet connection and home office setup. Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions. Preferred School transportation or school bus dispatch experience. Experience with routing, GPS tracking, and dispatch software. Knowledge of DOT and transportation regulations.
