Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Dispatcher to join our team in a Contract to permanent role. This position is ideal for someone who can balance customer communication, driver coordination, and delivery planning in a fast-paced environment. The right candidate will be confident making dispatch decisions, managing changing priorities, and supporting efficient day-to-day transportation operations.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage incoming calls from drivers and customers effectively, providing timely updates and clear resolution to service-related questions.
  • Review daily scheduled deliveries and evaluate dispatch activity to keep routes, timing, and load assignments aligned with operational needs.
  • Determine the most suitable equipment and assign the appropriate driver for each delivery based on load requirements, availability, and service expectations.
  • Send pickup and delivery details to drivers and coordinate load dispatching through company transportation software.
  • Partner closely with customer service teams to improve delivery performance and increase overall driver utilization.
  • Monitor active deliveries and respond quickly to schedule changes, service issues, or driver communication needs throughout the day.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive company and customer information, including rates, pricing details, pay data, purchase orders, and credit-related records.
  • Represent the organization in an experienced and detail-oriented manner in all internal and external interactions.
