Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Transportation Dispatcher to join our operations team. The Dispatcher will be responsible for coordinating daily transportation activities, communicating with drivers and customers, monitoring shipments, resolving operational issues, and ensuring on-time pickup and delivery performance. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment, and possesses excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Key Responsibilities Dispatch and coordinate company drivers and owner-operators. Monitor shipments from pickup through final delivery. Communicate with drivers regarding load assignments, schedules, and operational updates. Provide customers with shipment status updates and proactively communicate delays or issues. Coordinate cross-border freight movements between the United States and Mexico. Schedule pickups, deliveries, transloads, and warehouse appointments. Track equipment utilization and driver availability. Enter and maintain accurate shipment information in the TMS system. Work closely with customers, brokers, warehouses, and operations personnel. Assist in sourcing carrier capacity when required. Manage detention, layovers, and accessorial approvals. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and customer requirements. Maintain organized records and operational documentation. Preferred Qualifications Minimum 2 years of transportation dispatching or logistics experience. Experience with flatbed, specialized, heavy haul, or cross-border transportation preferred. Strong understanding of trucking operations and DOT regulations. Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred. Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS). Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word). Desired Skills Customer service oriented.
