Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic transportation team as a Truck Dispatcher and Safety Coordinator, where you'll play a vital role in coordinating freight movements, ensuring safety compliance, and optimizing our logistics operations. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing cutting-edge transportation management systems and GPS technology to streamline dispatching processes. Your expertise will help maintain efficient supply chain flows while prioritizing safety standards across all operations. Duties Coordinate and dispatch freight loads using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups. Monitor fleet movements via GPS and GIS tools, providing real-time updates to drivers and stakeholders. Maintain accurate data entry for shipments, driver logs, and safety records using AS400 and other data management platforms. Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, and internal teams through multi-line phone systems, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and professionalism. Oversee shipping & receiving activities, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements. Conduct analysis of transportation routes and logistics data to optimize efficiency while maintaining safety standards. Enforce safety policies by conducting regular safety checks, incident reporting, and coordinating safety training sessions for drivers and staff. Collaborate with 3PL providers to manage freight shipments and ensure seamless supply chain operations. Qualifications Proven experience with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine. Strong understanding of GPS tracking, GIS mapping, and transportation planning tools. Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally. Demonstrated analysis skills for route optimization, freight planning, and safety compliance. Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management, and logistics best practices. Ability to perform data entry accurately using platforms like AS400 or similar systems. Knowledge of transportation safety regulations and experience implementing safety protocols in a logistics environment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
