Shop Lead Technician/ Dispatch/Manager Job Summary:
Wildcat Oil Tools Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating all Bops and related equipment to field operations within a scheduled time while maintaining safe work practices. Dispatchers will also coordinate and schedule shop and field technicians for maintenance, repair, and installation of blowout preventers and related pressure control equipment. This role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple service requests efficiently. The Dispatcher ensures that field and shop operations run smoothly, technicians are properly assigned, and all necessary equipment and documentation are in place to meet customer and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule and dispatch field and shop technicians for BOP service, maintenance, and emergency repairs. Monitor job progress, technician availability, and equipment status to optimize service efficiency. Communicate with field and shop personnel, managers, and customers to coordinate service requests and resolve scheduling conflicts. Ensure technicians have the necessary tools, equipment, and documentation before deployment. Track work orders, job assignments, and service completion using BASIS. Maintain accurate records of job details, including location, time, personnel assigned, and equipment serviced. Respond to emergency service requests and adjust schedules as needed to minimize downtime. Provide field technicians with directions, job details, and updates to ensure smooth operations. Adhere to and enforce all Wildcat Oil Tools safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and compliance with OSHA, and API regulations. Participate in Wildcat University training programs to enhance knowledge of safety procedures, BOP systems and pressure control equipment. Assist in inventory tracking for BOP spare parts, tools, and service vehicles. Always Represent Wildcat Oil Tools in a proper and professional manner on and off the job.
Qualifications & Skills:
High school diploma or GED required; additional coursework in logistics, dispatching, or oilfield operations is a plus. Minimum 2+ years of experience in dispatching, oilfield operations, or a related field. Familiarity with BOP systems, field operations, and pressure control equipment. Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions to adjust schedules and resolve conflicts. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and maintenance management systems (BASIS). Strong attention to detail and ability to document job activities accurately. Ability to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in dispatching oil and gas field services and equipment. Knowledge of API 16A standards. Knowledge of safety regulations, including H2S awareness, confined space entry, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures. Forklift and overhead crane/rigging operation certification. transportation logistics experience.
Work Environment:
Office-based with occasional field visits or interaction with field personnel. High-pressure work environment requires quick decision-making. Requires availability for on-call rotations and emergency dispatch situations. Exposure to extreme weather conditions, high-pressure systems, and physically demanding work environments. Required to wear PPE, including fire-resistant clothing, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
