Dispatch aircraft to students, instructors, and staff while ensuring compliance with all Aviation policies and procedures. Maintains student accounts, including the creation of new accounts and the maintenance of existing accounts. Communicates aircraft needs to line personnel, including fuel, movement, and cleaning. Tracks and coordinates required maintenance inspections. Maintains the flight schedule, including notifying pilots of flight status and optimizing pilot schedules. Assists with emergency and incident response and other job-related duties as assigned. A high school diploma or equivalent, strong communication and basic computer skills, and the ability to learn, follow instructions, and work reliably in a team environment.
Licenses/Certifications:
Must hold and maintain a valid driver's license and pass the university's Defensive Driving Course while employed. Knowledge Knowledge of safety procedures and programs required to operate the FAA Part 61 and Part 141 certified pilot schools, as well as basic flight operations. Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), requirements for student pilots, weather minimums, night flight requirements, and endorsements. Skills Skills in computers and computer applications. Interpersonal human relations, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Abilities Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to work under high-stress situations. Ability to adhere to the Aviation Science Dispatch dress code. Ability to lift 15 lbs.
