Medical Transport Dispatcher

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Medical Transport Dispatcher to support daily transport operations throughout the Shenandoah Valley and surrounding communities. This position plays a critical role in coordinating medical transports, communicating with healthcare facilities and field crews, monitoring transport progress, and ensuring patients receive timely and professional service. What We Offer Competitive compensation and full benefits for full-time employees Company-provided uniforms Paid training and continuing education opportunities Supportive, team-oriented work environment Opportunities for growth within operations and communications Stable full-time scheduling Key Responsibilities Coordinate daily medical transports, crew assignments, and unit availability Communicate professionally with hospitals, healthcare facilities, patients, families, and field crews Monitor transport status, crew movement, and trip progress throughout each shift Answer incoming calls promptly, professionally, and accurately Prioritize transport requests and operational needs in real time Enter and maintain accurate transport details in dispatch and scheduling software Provide ETA updates and communicate delays or schedule changes as needed Support field crews through clear, timely, and effective communication Maintain confidentiality of patient, facility, and company information in accordance with HIPAA standards Assist with administrative, scheduling, and operational duties as assigned Report to scheduled shifts on time, in proper uniform, and maintain professional conduct at all times Successful Candidates Typically Have Strong multitasking and organizational skills Calm, professional communication skills, especially under pressure Strong attention to detail and accuracy Reliable attendance and punctuality Comfort using computers, dispatch systems, and multi-screen workflows Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities Ability to make quick decisions in time-sensitive situations Ability to work independently while remaining an effective team member Required Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent required Must pass a criminal background check Must pass a 10-panel drug screening Strong verbal and written communication skills required Basic computer proficiency required Ability to work in a fast-paced, multitasking environment Reliable attendance and punctuality required Preferred Qualifications Previous dispatch, communications, or call center experience EMS, healthcare, medical transport, logistics, or customer service experience Experience with multi-line phone systems or radio communications Familiarity with Harrisonburg, the Shenandoah Valley, and surrounding areas Experience using dispatch, scheduling, or transportation software systems We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
