Job Description
This position is 8 hours per day for 206 days per year.
BREMERTON SCHOOL DISTRICT 100-C JOB DESCRIPTION - DISPATCHER, TRANSPORTATION ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the interview process and recommend new bus drivers Assign bus routes and assign field trips to regular and substitute bus drivers and assistants Monitor and answer two-way radio and telephone Work with bus drivers and school personnel on improved student management, including recommending improvements in student disciplinary procedures Assist with the annual school bus safety program Work with parents and school district personnel to implement individual route and schedule changes Evaluate bus routes and bus stops for improved safety on a continuous basis Assist the supervisor in working with vehicle maintenance personnel and bus drivers to assure safe operating vehicles that meet or exceed Washington State Patrol school bus safety requirement Maintain and protect confidential reports and personnel records Keep computerized student records current Assist the supervisor in the administration of discipline associated with the student management program Assist the supervisor in responding to emergency situations for the purpose of ensuring the safety of students, staff, and equipment Perform additional related duties as may be required or assignedQUALIFICATIONS
The Dispatcher shall have the following skills including, but not limited to: Must be a qualified school bus driver, and Possess at least a Class B commercial driver's license with a passenger endorsement, and with air brake restriction removed A current first aid certificate and CPR certification A current Department of Transportation physical certificate Possess S endorsement Possess abstract proving an excellent driving record Possess two or more years experience in pupil transportation with school bus driving or school bus driver training responsibilities Prefer to possess current driver trainer qualifications or be available to attend the Washington State Entry Level Driver Trainer Instructor Course. Training must be satisfactorily completed Possess skills in giving instructions to other staff members Possess skills in using two-way radio professionally Possess skills in using technology including, but not limited to, computers, smartphones, or other technology devices as they become available Possess skills in using Microsoft Office Products; prefer to also possess skills using Google Office Applications Possess skills in Transfinder bus routing software or be able to obtain training on using Transfinder bus routing software Possess general knowledge of and adherence to Title 46 RCW (Revised Code of Washington) Possess general knowledge of and adherence to Title 28 RCW (Revised Code of Washington) and Chapter 392 WAC (Washington Administrative Code) Possess general knowledge of and adherence to the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act Possess general knowledge of and adherence to regulations surrounding Special Needs transportation Possess general knowledge of STARS (State Bus Count) procedures Possess general knowledge of school bus operations and maintenance procedures Demonstrated success in working both independently and under the direction of others in a harmonious manner Willingness and ability to work closely with school district administrators Willingness to maintain and protect confidential reports and personnel records Willingness to work in a diverse work environment Willingness to take direction, follow policies and implement procedures as directed Skills in working under stressful conditions Must have above-average record of attendance, punctuality, and reliability at work Must be able to meet the same physical requirements as a bus driver (WAC 392.144.102) Must be able to work as a team member with a positive working relationship with colleagues, students, and parents Must have a neat and clean appearance upon arrival to work April 2016Similar jobs in Bremerton, WA
