Operations Manager / Owner Position Summary We are seeking a highly organized, decisive, and experienced Senior Towing Dispatcher & Operations Coordinator to act as the nerve center of our daily operations. This is not an entry-level position. We need a high-level logistical problem-solver who can seamlessly pivot between routing a heavy-duty recovery, managing fleet logistics, and finalizing commercial billing. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess a deep understanding of the towing industry, and have the administrative expertise to handle invoicing and driver reconciliation, you are the exact fit for this role. Key Responsibilities 1.
Dispatch & Fleet Operations Strategic Routing:
Receive incoming calls (motor clubs, law enforcement, private property, and cash calls) and efficiently assign calls to drivers based on proximity, equipment capabilities, and priority.
Live Tracking:
Monitor fleet GPS and dispatch software to ensure accurate ETAs, minimize deadhead miles, and maximize driver productivity.
Crisis Management:
Handle high-stress situations, including severe accidents, multi-vehicle recoveries, and police impounds, ensuring the right equipment and personnel are deployed safely.
Ops Coordination:
Act as the primary liaison between drivers, lot attendants, and management. Anticipate operational bottlenecks and reroute resources dynamically. 2.
Billing, Invoicing & Administration Ticket Reconciliation:
Review and audit completed driver tickets for accuracy, ensuring all mileage, labor, storage, and special equipment fees are properly captured.
Account Invoicing:
Generate and submit accurate invoices to motor clubs, commercial accounts, law enforcement agencies, and private customers.
Payment Processing:
Process credit cards, handle purchase orders (POs), and manage daily cash reconciliation.
Receivables Management:
Follow up on unpaid invoices, resolve billing discrepancies with motor clubs, and release impounded vehicles in accordance with state/local laws. 3.
Leadership & Customer Relations Escalation Resolution:
Handle escalated customer complaints, damage claims, or delayed ETA disputes with professionalism and authority.
Mentorship:
Train and support junior dispatchers on proper call-taking, software usage, and dispatch protocols.
Quality Control:
Ensure all interactions over the phone and radio maintain a high standard of professionalism and reflect the company's core values. Candidate ProfileCategoryRequirements & QualificationsExperience 3+ years of experience in high-volume towing dispatch, logistics, or fleet operations. Technical Skills Proficiency in towing management software (e.g., Towbook, Beacon, or Tracker) and accounting/billing platforms (e.g., QuickBooks). Industry Knowledge Strong understanding of towing equipment capabilities (light, medium, and heavy-duty), motor club protocols, and basic vehicle mechanics. Administrative Proven experience handling commercial billing, invoice auditing, and payment processing with a high degree of accuracy. Soft Skills Exceptional multitasking abilities, geographical mastery of the service area, clear communication, and a calm demeanor under pressure.
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
