Job Description

Job Summary The Emergency Management Specialist/Training and Exercise Coordinator develops drills, trainings, and exercises that are Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP) compliant. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring after-action reports are written so best practices, lessons learned, recommendations, and conclusions can be implemented into the Center for Emergency Preparedness plans and policies. Responsibilities This position will coordinate the Center for Emergency Preparedness' statewide training and exercise activities. Trainings and exercises should ensure all Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) and Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) grant requirements are met using established guidance. Responsible for developing and coordinating procedures for statewide drills and exercises to test the Department's capability to respond to disasters, in accordance with federal guidelines. Develops, organizes, coordinates, and implements the state-level Emergency Preparedness exercise and training programs, so that all PHEP and HPP grant requirements are met. Responsible for developing the 5-year exercise and training plan designed to meet state-level performance requirements, assuring successful demonstration, performance measure reporting, and maintenance of supporting documentation. Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business or Public Administration or a closely related field Two years of experience in emergency management activities Applicants must possess a valid Alabama driver's license at the time of appointment. Pay:
$43,351.20 - $72,504.00 per year
