Job Description:
Description and Requirements Job Description Role Overview We are seeking a Recovery Manager to lead and coordinate recovery initiatives in the aftermath of a major wildfire for a local utility. As part of the Emergency Management Office, you will be responsible for developing and implementing recovery strategies as well as supporting future disaster recovery planning. This position requires a deep understanding of emergency management principles, disaster recovery operations, and grant administration. You will serve as a key liaison between internal departments, government agencies, and community stakeholders to ensure timely and effective recovery and resilience-building initiatives. This is a contract position with an opportunity to apply for the permanent role. What You'll Do Lead and coordinate wildfire recovery operations across impacted service areas. Track and manage applications for FEMA Public Assistance, California Disaster Assistance Act (CDAA), Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), and other relevant state and federal funding programs. Maintain thorough documentation and reporting systems to support and track recovery projects, including damage assessments, scopes of work, cost estimates, expenditures and inspection reports. Serve as the primary liaison with CalOES, FEMA, and local jurisdictions to ensure compliance with recovery program requirements. Provide technical guidance to internal teams and external partners on recovery funding opportunities and regulatory compliance. Develop and implement a unified communication strategy to keep stakeholders informed, aligned and engaged. Support the development of forward-looking disaster recovery plans that ensure continuity of operations, restoration of critical infrastructure, and effective communication strategies-collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to align plans with evolving risks and regulatory requirements. Foster strong partnerships with emergency services and government agencies to enhance preparedness and coordinate future response efforts Support Department Emergency Operations Center activationswith shift-based overtime or on-call work, including nights, weekends, holidays and extended hours. This position's work mode is in-person. What You'll Bring Extensive experience in disaster recovery, disaster planning and emergency management Proven ability to manage complex recovery programs and funding applications. Skilled in coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including government agencies, non-profits, and utility partners. Background in utility infrastructure maintenance and emergency response with knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and compliance standards preferred Demonstrated leadership in emergency operations, including acting as a liaison and subject matter expert during disaster events. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Relevant certifications in emergency management or disaster recovery a plus. Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The targeted hourly pay range is $63/hr to $93/hr. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors.
