Job Description

Synopsis Lead the development and maintenance of the organisation's emergency preparedness and response capability for aircraft incidents, accidents, and major operational disruption. The role contributes to maintaining emergency documentation, delivering training and exercises, supporting risk and data management, and ensuring the readiness of emergency response facilities and equipment in line with operational requirements. Accountabilities
  • Manage the development, governance and continuous improvement of Corporate and Station Emergency Response Plans, ensuring enterprise consistency, regulatory compliance, and operational relevance across the global network.
  • Provide functional direction to Global Airports and regional operational teams, setting standards, issuing guidance, and assuring alignment between corporate emergency response requirements and local contingency plans.
  • Design, manage, and deliver Etihad Airways' global emergency response training and exercise programme, ensuring capability development keeps pace with network growth, fleet changes, and evolving operational risk.
  • Manage the Emergency Response Risk Framework through ongoing assessment, consolidation, and analysis of operational and station-level risk data to inform preparedness priorities and mitigation actions.
  • Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of emergency response exercises (table-top, functional, and live), including scenario design, stakeholder coordination, post-exercise evaluation, and closure of improvement actions through formal Management of Change (MOC) governance.
  • Oversee governance and data integrity for emergency response volunteer pools, training records, notification groups, and incident support rosters, ensuring business continuity coverage and audit readiness.
  • Manage emergency response resource readiness, including facilities, systems, and equipment within the Emergency Response Centre (ERC), working with DTI, Asset Management, and Facilities to address gaps and drive infrastructure improvements.
  • Act as the focal point for internal and external audits related to emergency preparedness and response, coordinating inputs and maintaining effective working relationships with federal, local, and industry crisis management authorities.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and advisory support to senior operational leadership during periods of heightened risk, exercises, or live events, ensuring informed decision-making and effective escalation. Qualifications Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation management and/or project management certification
  • Previous aviation industry experinces within the airline business in ERP or a major operational department is essential, preferably 5 years experience
