The Fulton County Board of Health provides a variety of services that help protect residents from health threats, increase access to health services to improve health outcomes, and provide information that assists Fulton County citizens in living healthier lives. The agency is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Emergency Mgt Spec 1 within the Fulton County Board of Health in the Community Health Services/ Emergency Preparedness Division. Under general supervision, coordinates disaster response or crisis management activities, provides disaster preparedness training and prepares emergency plans and procedures. Administrative duties. Inventory and supply coordinator. This position may require working on some weekends, after hours and holidays.

Plan Maintenance and Updating :

You will assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating emergency operations plans (EOPs), hazard mitigation plans, and continuity of operations plans (COOP) to ensure they meet current local, state, and federal regulations.

Training and Exercise Support :

A major part of the role involves helping organize "mock disasters," tabletop drills, and training sessions for staff, volunteers, and the public to test response protocols.

Operational Readiness :

You'll be responsible for maintaining emergency equipment, testing communication systems (like satellite radios or mass notification alerts), and ensuring Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs) are stocked and ready for immediate activation.

Data Collection and Reporting :

Entry-level staff frequently research potential threats, gather data for risk assessments, and prepare detailed status reports or damage assessments after an incident occurs.

Community Outreach :

You may deliver presentations to local schools, civic organizations, or businesses on basic disaster preparedness and safety procedures. Set-up and breakdown equipment at an event.

Administrative Assistance :

This includes managing grant applications for federal funding, tracking disaster-related expenses, maintaining records of training certifications, and processing requisitions and invoices. All other administrative duties as assigned. High school diploma/GED and three (3) years of experience in emergency management; or two (2) years of experience required at the lower level Emergency Mgt Spec 1 (PSP070) or position equivalent.
