EMS Liaison Base Station Coordinator - Sinai Hospital - ER Summary
JOB SUMMARY
The EMS Liaison & Base Station Coordinator serves as the primary operational and clinical connection between Emergency Medical Services (EMS), the Emergency Department (ED), and the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems (MIEMSS) for both Sinai and Grace Emergency Departments. This position provides clinical and operational leadership and supports Maryland Base Station regulatory compliance, EMS-ED communication, Base Station operations, and clinical coordination for prehospital-to-ED transitions of care, and emergency department throughput. The role ensures that Base Station operations are safe, compliant, and aligned with Maryland Medical Protocols, and that ED staff and EMS providers have clear, consistent communication pathways. This role does not carry direct supervisory authority but requires strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills. REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 3 years of experience; 5+ years of experience preferred Clinical background in emergency nursing Current employment in a hospital in Maryland ED that is designated by the EMS Board as Base Station Experience working with EMS systems, emergency department operations, and quality improvement initiatives. Knowledge of ED throughput metrics and regulatory standards. Experience working with MIEMSS or similar state EMS regulatory agencies. Experience leading interdisciplinary or cross-organizational initiatives without direct supervisory authority. BSN or higher required Current RN Licese in Maryland (Compact State as applicable) Current
BLS/PALS/ACLS
Certifications from the American Heart Association required Successful completion of a MIEMSS-approved base station course required Quality improvement training preferred (Lean, Six Sigma, PDSA, etc.)
