EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST
(GS-0089-11), you will develop, review, coordine and execute the wing's Emergency Management (EM) program plan in support of DOD, Joint Service, Air Force, MAJCOM, ANG, Numbered Air Force, federal, ste, and county plans in the area(s) of Prevention, Protection, Mitigion, Response, and Recovery. The position develops, manages and executes the wing EM programs, ensuring effective prevention, protection, mitigion, response, and recovery operions to allow continued mission capability the wing level. NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.

Positions covered by this PD must be reviewed for proper "Testing Designed Position (TDP)" coding to comply with the AF Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program (AFI 44-107). Position is required to maintain classified documents; therefore, requires a security clearance, the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment. Must have successfully completed, or be able to complete within six (6) months of appointment to position, the Air Force Emergency Management Course. May be required to be certified on and wear emergency protective equipment IAW DOD guidance. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty stion on military or commercial aircraft. May be required to work outside normal duty hours For positions requiring the operion of motor vehicles, candides must have a valid ste driver's license for the ste in which they live or are principally employed. The functional manager and hiring manager will determine length of time for qualified applicants to obtain emergency management certificion in accordance with DoD and/or Service affiliion requirements.
Qualificions Military Grades :
ENLISTED SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
: Must have one year specialized experience, educion, or training equivalent to least the next lower grade level th equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and th is typically in or reled to the work of the position to be filled. Experience developing, coordining, obtaining approval, and publishing plans and procedures for implemention of wing policies and instructions reling to Emergency Management (EM). Experience developing, upding, and coordining the Wing Emergency Management Plan (IEMP) 10-2. Experience establishing wing emergency management plan objectives, effectively correling the requirements on interdependent functional areas and provides comprehensive and timely guidance for all units in accordance with Homeland Security Presidential Directives (HSPDs), Nional Response Framework (NRF), Nional Disaster Recovery Framework (NDRF), Consequence Management (CM), Nional Incident Management System (NIMS), the Air Force Incident Management System (AFIMS), and DOD guidance.
OR Educion:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level gradue educion leading to such a degree or LL.M, in reled field.
OR Combinion of Educion and Experience:
A combinion of educion and experience may be used to qualify for this position. Applicants must have a combinion of specialized experience and college academic courses in business management, speech, English grammar, algebra, biology, physics, chemistry, and computer operions.

Must possess or obtain (and maintain), within six (6) months of appointment to position, hazardous merials level training certificions through Internional Fire Service Accredition Congress (IFSAC) or Pro Board Fire Service Professional Qualificions System Awareness, Operions, and Technician to perform containment, control, detection, and identificion. Duties of this position may be locally determined to be essential to the accomplishment of wartime/contingency operions. Incumbents of key positions must be removed from their military recall stus if alternive for filling of the position during an emergency are not available. Key designion should be determined locally. This position is designed as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparion for, or in response to, a ste emergency or disaster declarion. This designion will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.
