Role:
To be successful in this role, candidates should be self-motivated, organized, and comfortable managing projects with a high degree of independence. The position has immediate responsibility for coordinating and developing Continuity of Operations (COOP) plans with county departments, requiring strong relationship-building, facilitation, and communication skills. Successful candidates will be able to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, balance multiple priorities, and translate complex emergency management concepts into practical solutions. Role:
Throughout the onboarding process, you will meet with the Supervisors, teams, and the admin team regularly to discuss expectations, set goals, identify priorities, and gain familiarity with current policies, procedures, and strategic measures. Core Daily Responsibilities:
Develop planning strategies, plans, and procedures with local governments, state and federal agencies, and the private sector. Implement such plans and programs as required. Research, develop, and maintain aspects of the Pierce County Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan as assigned. Review, analyze, and develop reports on plans, programs, mitigation activities, and other related documents. Act as a Duty Officer to respond to the Department of Emergency Management responsibilities during regular and non-business hours.
