Community Wildfire Specialist AT THE Washington County Emergency Services Department
FULL TIME / WITH BENEFITS
$21.53 PER HOUR Washington County is looking for a motivated Community Wildfire Specialist to support wildfire prevention, emergency preparedness, and community outreach efforts throughout the County's unincorporated areas. This position works alongside local fire agencies, state and federal partners, and community leaders to reduce wildfire risk and promote public safety. What You'll Do Support Community Wildfire Protection Plans and Community Wildfire Councils. Assist with wildfire prevention, mitigation, and public education programs. Coordinate community preparedness training and the CERT program. Monitor wildfire activity and assist with emergency management operations. Build partnerships with local, state, and federal agencies. Assist with emergency response efforts and public outreach as needed. Qualifications Associate degree in emergency management, public administration, fire science, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Two years of experience in emergency management, public safety, fire service, or a related field. Ability to obtain required Wildland Firefighter, CPR/First Aid, and NIMS certifications within six months of hire. Strong communication, organization, and public relations skills.
