Job Description
The Director of Operational Services is responsible for the effectiveness, strategic planning, and general day-to-day oversight of the following Village services, functions, and programs: Streets, Parks, Recreation, Forestry, Engineering, Cemetery, Facilities, and Belleville Utilities. The Director of Operational Services analyzes and implements policies and procedures, assists the Administrator and Assistant Administrator in annual and capital budget preparation, project management, and strategic planning, and is expected to provide guidance and operational support to internal and external partners. There is frequent interaction with staff, the public, and local officials. The Director of Operational Services is responsible for recording, compiling, and reporting information to regulatory agencies as required, including the Department of Transportation (DOT), Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Public Services Commission (PSC), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Madison Metropolitan Sewer District (MMSD), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Dane and Green Counties, State of Wisconsin, and other federal agencies.
