Facilities & Operations General Job Brief This role ensures smooth facility operations and seamless intra-campus logistics by overseeing daily maintenance workflows, Mail Services, and Housekeeping. The Director drives cost-efficiency, manages vendor relationships, and resolves personnel needs while serving as the primary lead for the Mailroom and the main backup for Facilities leadership. This role also requires a comprehensive understanding of and commitment to the unique Christian mission and vision of ACU to Transform Culture with Truth, and the ability to advance that mission and vision through the performance of its duties, including person-to-person mentorship and discipleship. Key Responsibilities Facilities & Work Order Management Maintain and optimize the workflow of the Facilities Services Department using CMMS software like MaintainX to track performance and implement cost-saving measures. Assign, prioritize, and track work orders for Field Service Techs to ensure timely resolution of maintenance requests. Ensure optimal equipment operation by scheduling preventive maintenance, coordinating repairs, and evaluating new equipment and techniques. Manage ACU (Facilities) credit card reconciliation and assist in evaluating budgetary and personnel requirements. Act as the direct backup for the Facilities Director in their absence, covering Maintenance and Landscaping. Housekeeping & Building Inspections Manage full departmental operations for Housekeeping, including day-to-day HR duties and payroll processing. Conduct routine building inspections to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and operational standards. Manage supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating needs, pacing and expediting orders, and verifying deliveries. Mailroom Operations & Customer Service Oversee the Mail Services Department, actively working within the Mailroom in a full-time capacity. Provide front-line customer service by fielding phone calls, addressing walk-up inquiries, and fulfilling building occupant requests. Administrative & Strategic Support Create and revise facility systems by analyzing operating practices, recordkeeping, office layout, and personnel processes. Resolve administrative challenges by coordinating report preparation, analyzing data, and identifying sustainable solutions Other Duties and Responsibilities Completing other duties and tasks with utmost integrity and professionalism, as directed, and not necessarily mentioned in this description, may be asked on a volunteer basis. Commitment to the University's faith statement, mission, and purposes; and an active Christian faith. Comfort and familiarity with the practice of praying with and for others, including students, faculty, and fellow University staff. The ability to meaningfully support and encourage students, faculty, and staff from a biblical worldview perspective, using relevant and applicable references from the Old and New Testaments and Orthodox Christian writings. Demonstrated alignment with and enthusiastic support for the Christian Mission and Core Commitments of the University, including signing the University's Statement of Faith and Core Commitments annually. Education Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field Abilities and Skills Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Clear, accurate, and persuasive written and verbal communication skills.
