Maintenance Staff Vintage Faire Nursing and Rehabilitation Center - 3.1 Modesto, CA Job Details Temporary | Internship $25 - $33 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Qualifications Carpentry Nursing home experience Landscape maintenance Sanitation Equipment troubleshooting Patient interaction Electrical maintenance Facilities maintenance Full Job Description As a Maintenance Staff member in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or nursing home ensures a safe, functional, and compliant environment for residents, staff, and visitors. They maintain building systems, resident rooms, and common areas according to strict healthcare regulations. •Temporary Position •Core Job Responsibilities Routine & Preventative Maintenance Inspect building systems daily, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting. Test emergency generators and backup systems on a scheduled basis. Perform minor repairs on drywall, flooring, doors, cabinetry, and windows. Maintain facility grounds by clearing walkways, landscaping, and managing trash removal. Service facility equipment such as commercial laundry machines and kitchen appliances, patient equipment (Beds, Hoyer lifts etc.) Resident Room & Specialized Care Equipment Repair medical beds , call light systems, wheelchairs, and mechanical lifts. Turn over resident rooms swiftly upon discharge, including painting and deep repairs. Install safety fixtures like grab bars, handrails, and specialized pressure valves. Respond to maintenance requests submitted by residents or nursing staff. [1, 2] Safety, Compliance & Life Safety Code Maintain Life Safety Code compliance per NFPA 101 and CMS regulations. Check fire protection systems , including fire alarms, extinguishers, and sprinklers. Log daily water temperatures to prevent Legionella and accidental resident scalding. Clear emergency exits and ensure all fire doors latch properly. Keep meticulous documentation of all tests for state and federal health inspections.
Job Requirements & Qualifications Skills & Experience Experience:
1-3 years in commercial maintenance, preferably in healthcare or hospitality.
Technical skills:
Basic proficiency in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC troubleshooting.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and healthcare sanitation protocols, Life and Safety, and use of
Tels Preventative Maintenance System Communication:
Ability to interact patiently and respectfully with elderly residents suffering from cognitive decline.
Physical Demands Lifting:
Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50-70 pounds regularly.
Mobility:
Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and standing for long shifts.
Availability:
Participation in an on-call rotation for after-hours building emergencies.
Pay:
$25.00 - $33.00 per hour
