HIRING IMMEDIATELY FOR A SKILLED NURSING FACILITY IN THE BAY AREA
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing for Skilled Nursing to lead and oversee all nursing operations within our skilled nursing facility. This pivotal role requires a passionate leader dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a collaborative environment among healthcare professionals. As the driving force behind nursing excellence, you will manage staff, optimize care delivery, and uphold the highest standards of clinical practice. Your leadership will directly impact residents' quality of life and the overall success of our facility. Duties Provide strategic leadership and supervision for nursing staff, including nurse managers and direct care providers, to ensure high-quality resident care. Develop, implement, and monitor care plans tailored to each resident's needs, incorporating best practices in assisted living, home health, hospice care, and acute care settings. Oversee compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations including HIPAA privacy standards and Medicare requirements. Manage documentation review processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of medical records, MDS assessments (Minimum Data Set), and other clinical documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems. Coordinate shift management to ensure adequate staffing levels while maintaining optimal resident-to-staff ratios. Lead quality assurance initiatives by reviewing medical records, care plans, and documentation to uphold clinical standards and improve resident outcomes. Foster a positive work environment that promotes professional development through supervising experience and leadership training for nursing staff. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance resident care strategies based on physiology knowledge, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology expertise. Ensure all nursing activities align with regulatory guidelines related to Medicare reimbursement policies and healthcare laws. Qualifications Proven experience in nursing home administration or management within skilled nursing facilities or assisted living environments. Extensive background in nursing practice with knowledge spanning home health, hospice care, acute care, and home care services. Demonstrated supervising experience with strong nurse management skills; ability to lead teams effectively across shifts. Proficiency in EMR systems and EHR systems for documentation review and medical records management. Solid understanding of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and healthcare regulations such as HIPAA. Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication skills to motivate staff and foster teamwork. Ability to manage complex care plans while ensuring compliance with Medicare guidelines and other reimbursement protocols. Knowledge of MDS assessments process for skilled nursing residents to support accurate billing and quality reporting.
