Job Description

We are looking for a dependable Facilities Assistant to support shipping, receiving, and material flow activities for a biotech operation in Redwood City, California. This Contract position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings strong accuracy, organization, and follow-through to daily logistics tasks. The person in this role will help ensure materials are received, documented, labeled, and sent out correctly while supporting laboratory and operations teams with time-sensitive requests.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage inbound and outbound packages through carrier systems such as FedEx and related shipping platforms, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Create and apply shipping labels, barcodes, and required documentation with a high degree of precision.
  • Coordinate domestic and international deliveries while following applicable shipping rules, company standards, and handling requirements.
  • Check incoming goods against packing slips and purchase records, then route materials to the correct teams or individuals.
  • Prepare items for dispatch using appropriate packaging methods, especially for fragile or sensitive laboratory-related materials.
  • Maintain current shipping, receiving, and inventory logs to support traceability and day-to-day operational accuracy.
  • Track stock levels for boxes, labels, and other shipping supplies, and help arrange replenishment before shortages occur.
  • Support cycle counts, storage organization, and general warehouse orderliness to keep materials accessible and controlled.
  • Work closely with laboratory and operations personnel to meet deadlines and respond to changing business priorities.
  • Keep the shipping and receiving area clean, safe, and organized in alignment with workplace standards.
