Facilities Assistant United Mechanical San Jose, CA Job Details Full-time $23 - $29 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Outdoor work Moving Full Job Description The Facilities Assistant is responsible for supporting the overall upkeep, safety, and organization of company facilities, including yard areas, warehouses, office buildings, and common spaces. This role performs general maintenance, minor repairs, preventative inspections, and facility support to ensure a safe and professional work environment. Responsibilities Perform general facility maintenance and minor repairs, including adjustments to office equipment (e.g., raising/lowering desks), painting, and basic building upkeep, in a timely manner and in compliance with company policies and safety standards. Maintain organization and cleanliness of yards, warehouses, offices, and shared/common areas. Perform quarterly rooftop inspection to identify minor damage(s), repair cracks as appropriate and remove debris. Remove debris, excess materials, pallets, and waste to maintain safe and orderly work areas. Conduct daily regular campus walkthroughs to identify and address areas requiring maintenance or attention. Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely and in accordance with company policies. Support inventory organization and material storage as needed. Ability to work overtime and weekends as business needs require. Suggest and support process improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and safety. Qualifications Good verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally across all levels of the organization Good organization skills Ability to remain professional and solution-oriented when managing challenging or time-sensitive situations Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time Ability to lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds Ability to climb up and down from ladders, scaffolding and forklifts Ability to work in various weather conditions such as rain or sun Unexpired, state-issued driver's license Experience with safety protocol and safety measures (warehouse or construction) preferred Prior forklift experience preferred Prior general maintenance experience preferred United Mechanical is an Equal Opportunity Employer and embraces diversity in our employee population.
