About the Role We are seeking a Facilities Supervisor with a unique blend of technical grit, leadership, and a deep respect for strict regulatory standards to oversee our Tracy Meat Plant. This is an active leadership role where you will directly supervise a core crew of 6 facilities maintenance technicians and refrigeration operators , while working alongside a broader site staff of 50+ maintenance technicians . The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, spends the vast majority of their shift in the Plant, working side-by-side with technicians, and treats safety and compliance as non-negotiable. Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
Supervise, mentor, and schedule daily, weekly, monthly and annual tasks and PM's for your crew. Work with the larger 50+ person maintenance department as needed.
Systems Management:
Oversee facility maintenance for a highly complex physical plant, including plumbing, facilities, air, hot water, domestic water, steam boilers, and a complete ammonia refrigeration system.
Emergency Response:
Work alongside the AGM of Maintenance to manage and direct ammonia emergency responses, our training program and working with the plant's internal emergency response team for incidents up to a Level B response.
Safety & Compliance:
Manage safety programs and ensure strict federal adherence to PSM (Process Safety Management) and RMP (Risk Management Plan) protocols.
Sanitation Collaboration:
Partner with production supervisors to ensure equipment fixes withstand daily high-pressure and hot chemical washdowns.
CMMS Tracking:
Diligently track work orders, manage spare parts inventory, and maintain preventative maintenance (PM) compliance using our Computerized Maintenance Management System.
Contractor Collaboration:
Coordinate, oversee, and evaluate the work of external contractors. Required Experience & Qualifications
Total Technical Experience:
5 to 7+ years of industrial maintenance or facilities experience in a heavy industrial environment including steam boilers, Industrial air compressor systems, air dryers, Ammonia systems, screw compressors, evaporators, evaporative condensers, cooling systems, hot water systems, wastewater monitoring, large HVAC, structural facility maintenance and fire systems.
Supervisory Experience:
2 to 5 years of direct experience supervising technicians, managing maintenance schedules, and overseeing asset tracking.
Industry-Specific Experience:
2 to 3 years in a USDA, FDA, or GMP-regulated food manufacturing environment (meat processing experience highly preferred). Must understand harsh, wet washdown environments and extreme temperature zones.
Schedule Flexibility:
Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, and holidays to support our 24/7 production demands. Preferred Certifications & Training
- RETA (Refrigerating Engineers & Technicians Association), CARO, or CIRO certifications are highly valued.

Industrial Refrigeration:
Hands-on experience with Ammonia systems, PSM compliance, and up to Level B emergency response. This expertise is crucial for our large footprint and ensures strict federal safety compliance.
Regulatory Knowledge:
Deep familiarity with USDA inspections, OSHA safety programs, and HACCP guidelines. Because a single maintenance oversight or sanitary slip-up can halt production, a strong compliance mindset is mandatory to avoid costly audit failures.
Sanitation & Washdowns:
Practical knowledge of chemical washdowns. Our equipment is blasted with high-pressure, hot chemical water daily, meaning all repairs and fixes must be built to last in these conditions.
CMMS Proficiency:
Robust experience using computerized maintenance management platforms. Tracking work orders, proving daily PM compliance, and keeping spare parts properly stocked is vital to our operational scale. Benefits & Perks
