Job Description

The Facilities Manager is primarily responsible for the maintenance of the building operations at the Center for Comfort Care and Healing facility located in Danbury, CT.
Duties include:
Works in coordination with the Clinical Department and Management regarding the Center for Comfort Care and Healing facility management. Directs, coordinates and controls the activities of the building operations and maintenance functions in order to maintain the physical structure grounds, HVAC, fire protection, mechanical, oxygen supply, electrical (including generator) and other utility systems. Provides and coordinates services, repair and maintenance necessary to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the facility and to maintain a comfortable physical environment for patients, staff and visitors. Develops, evaluates and implements policies, procedures and standards of work for the maintenance and repair of the building, building systems, and medical equipment along with director support. Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, including but not limited to life safety, Federal regulations, OSHA, etc. along with director support. Evaluates relevant processes and makes recommendations to promote efficient and effective utilization of utilities, ensure compliance with regulatory standards and improve services. Schedules, supervises and / or conducts monitoring, inspections, testing and preventative maintenance of systems to ensure uninterrupted operations. Maintains all documentation of system and equipment testing, maintenance, and repair. Administers fire protection and safety programs including staff education. Creates and evaluates evacuation plans for patients, in coordination with Clinical Department. Maintains an inventory of supplies necessary to maintain operation readiness of the building. Coordinates with all service contractors and vendors to ensure that all contractual responsibilities are being met along with director support. Recommends repairs and maintenance to the building and equipment as necessary. Coordinates systems in the case of a system emergency or utility outage along with director support Participates in any required surveys and inspections by municipal, state or federal agencies. Participates in any agency quality improvement plan and in-service training. Other duties as assigned
Education:
High School Diploma, Associates degree preferred. Ability to read, write and communicate in
English Experience:
A minimum of 5 years' experience in plant operations management and/or maintenance of a health care facility. Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, ordinances, codes, familiarity with industry specific standards as identified by executive management as well as DPH, OSHA, NFPA and other applicable building codes. Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel) as well as experience working with computerized building systems: Technical expertise and hands on skills to ensure systems run efficiently, safely, and comfortably. Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to provide direction to personnel and take instruction in a professional manner.
