Role Overview The Site & Facilities Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and reliability of Marcurius' physical environment, including facility, workshop, yard, and waterfront areas. This role ensures the site never becomes a constraint on engineering, testing, or delivery, operating as a direct support function to engineering execution under the Chief Engineer. This is a hands-on role, not an administrative one. The Site & Facilities Lead is expected to be physically present, actively managing the site, coordinating work, and stepping in where needed to keep operations moving. The role sits within the engineering delivery structure and supports execution without taking on engineering responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of the facility, workshop, yard, and waterfront areas Ensure the site is always clean, organized, accessible, and ready for use Manage site access (keys, doors, visitors, entry points) and opening/closing procedures Coordinate and follow up on all maintenance to ensure infrastructure and equipment remain fully operational Manage contractors, ensuring safe, high-quality, and timely work Maintain safe working conditions, including PPE management, contractor safety, and incident handling Identify and escalate risks or unsafe conditions proactively Oversee utilities (power, water, internet, backup systems) to ensure continuity Ensure engineers and technicians have a functional and well-organized working environment Support movement of equipment, vessels, and materials for testing and operations Manage facility-related tools, consumables, and PPE, keeping clear separation from engineering inventory Develop and maintain practical site-level procedures for safety, physical access control, contractor coordination, maintenance, workspace readiness, and facility support, working with the Chief Engineer and relevant team members as facility and operational requirements mature Reporting Line Reports to Chief Engineer Embedded within engineering delivery, supporting execution across teams Required Qualifications Experience managing facilities, sites, or operations in industrial, technical, or marine environments Strong track record of coordinating maintenance and contractors Familiarity with health and safety standards and compliance Highly proactive and hands-on Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on uptime and prevention Organized and able to manage multiple vendors and tasks simultaneously Comfortable working in dynamic, fast-moving environments Preferred Background Experience in marine, shipyard, or waterfront environments Technical understanding of basic infrastructure systems (electrical, mechanical, utilities) Success in the Role The facility operates without disruption to engineering or operations Issues are anticipated and prevented rather than reacted to The site is consistently safe, compliant, and well-maintained Engineers and technicians are never blocked by facility-related constraints Why Marcurius Marcurius is a people-first, execution-focused organization assembling a high-impact team of Engineers and Operators.
