Acute Psychiatric Hospital - Baker Act Receiving Facility About the Opportunity Our inpatient psychiatric hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Physician to join our multidisciplinary treatment team. As a Baker Act-receiving facility, we provide crisis stabilization, acute psychiatric care, and comprehensive treatment for adults experiencing mental health emergencies. This role is ideal for a physician who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and ongoing inpatient medication management. Serve as the admitting and treating physician for individuals placed under the Florida Baker Act and voluntary patients. Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with nursing, social work, therapy, and case management teams. Conduct daily patient rounds and ensure appropriate clinical documentation according to regulatory standards. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, treatment planning discussions, and discharge planning. Assess risk, safety, and readiness for discharge while ensuring compliance with Baker Act requirements. Provide crisis intervention and stabilization in collaboration with clinical staff. Maintain compliance with hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and best practices in psychiatric care. Qualifications MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school. Completion of an ACGME-accredited Psychiatry residency. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry. Active Florida medical license (or ability to obtain prior to start). Experience in inpatient or crisis-stabilization settings preferred. Familiarity with Baker Act protocols, involuntary holds, and psychiatric care. Strong communication, collaboration, and clinical decision-making skills. Schedule & Work Environment Full-time inpatient schedule (M-F or block schedule options available). Shared or dedicated on-call responsibilities (flexible based on candidate preference). Support from psychiatric nurse practitioners, therapists, social workers, and medical staff. Modern, secure, and recovery-oriented facility.

From $300,000.00 per year
