Job Description

Overview Oversee the facilities of the Nocatee Campus, including maintenance, repairs, aesthetics, improvements, security, safety, event coordination, and daily operations. This role ensures efficient, clear, best-practice systems and processes that create safe, welcoming, and functional environments for worship, ministry, events, and community outreach, while stewarding resources in alignment with the church's mission. Responsibilities Oversee contracts, relationships, and payments with outside vendors/contractors. Ensure buildings, grounds, systems, and equipment are well-maintained, safe, operational, and aesthetically excellent through routine checks, repairs, preventive maintenance, and hands-on management; this includes roofing, HVAC, exterior & interior maintenance, janitorial, electrical, plumbing, utility usage and infrastructure, campus grounds, etc. Perform an annual comprehensive review to update the capital improvement plan (short-, mid-, and long range needs). Plan/execute construction/remodeling/renovation projects; collaborate with the Nocatee Campus Pastor to ensure smooth operations during services/events. Regular coordination and management of eSPACE needs for the facility usage by Nocatee Campus staff and volunteers. Manage setups/teardowns and other necessary logistics for regular weekly use and major events throughout the year. Oversee contracted janitorial services, food services, Amazon bin/packages, and storage allocation. Develop and manage volunteer teams for ministry functions in the Facilities department (maintenance, events, security, setups, etc.). Maintain up-to-date records for property, building, infrastructure, equipment warranties, maintenance logs, and vendor contracts; Ensure compliance with local/state/federal regulations. Manage fire and life-safety requirements; ensure compliance with local/state/federal regulations. Develop and manage the annual facility budget, including the use of Sage Intacct, Airbase, and Martus software. Collaborate with downtown team members as required; attend weekly Nocatee/monthly downtown staff meetings; coordinate pickups; assist downtown for large events. Management of campus access control and security camera system for scheduling, campus safety, and implementing and maintaining safety protocols with the Director of Operations and the Director of Security. officer presence for events as needed. Develop/implement emergency plans (evacuation/disaster response); coordinate health/injury responses. Oversee risk management (accident forms, Nocatee safety policies, event risk assessments). Assist deacons with weekly duties as needed. Supervise Nocatee maintenance worker(s), including weekly schedules, checklists, and meetings as needed. Collaborate with the Nocatee Kitchen Coordinator for smooth processes (MDWK meals, Sunday programming, special events). Maintain excellent communication with the Nocatee Campus Pastor and other coworkers. Represent FBC in a professional manner at all times, both on and off property. Uphold FBC policies and procedures, goals, and values. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Possess a working knowledge of facilities management, budgeting, contract and project management, record-keeping, and developing systems and procedures. Ability to plan, schedule, and accomplish tasks in a timely manner. Ability to self-supervise, act decisively, and collaborate well with others. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; ability to adjust priorities as needed. Ability to use a computer and the necessary software (including but not limited to Microsoft Office, eSpace, JACE, Avigilon). Ability to safely operate equipment such as mowers, trimmers, pressure washers, and various hand tools. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and work orders. Ability to maintain and oversee multiple areas of facility operations in a clear, efficient, and organized manner. Ability to clearly communicate needs, both immediate and future, as needed. Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion. Affirm without reservation the Baptist Faith and Message (2000). Demonstrate a credible profession and experience of faith in Christ. Passionate about the mission and vision of First Baptist Church, Jacksonville. Must be or be willing to become a member of First Baptist Church, Jacksonville.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk. Regularly required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, couch, crawl, speak, hear, and/or smell. Regularly lift/move 25 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds. Must correctly wear all required safety equipment and personal protective equipment while performing assigned duties.
