HELP WANTED
Facilities Director First Baptist Church Sarasota, Florida
  • Full-time First Baptist Sarasota is looking for a Facilities Director to join our team.
This vital role supports the mission of our church by ensuring that our campus is safe, welcoming, and well-maintained for worship, ministry, and community engagement.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Facilities Director oversees the maintenance and operation of all church buildings and grounds, and manages facility setup for services, events, and ministry activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee maintenance, repair, and upkeep of all church facilities and grounds
  • Develop and carry out a preventative maintenance schedule
  • Coordinate and supervise custodial services to ensure a clean, orderly campus
  • Handle facility setup and teardown for worship services, meetings, and special events
  • Maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems — directly or through contractors
  • Ensure compliance with safety codes and applicable regulations
  • Work with church staff on ministry needs and event logistics
  • Manage vendor and contractor relationships
  • Help manage the facilities budget
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a genuine heart for local church ministry
  • Experience in facilities management, maintenance, or a related field
  • Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical)
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to urgent needs
  • Fluency in English with excellent communication skills for working well with other team members.
