About the Role We are seeking a hands-on, strategic Engineer Facility Manager to lead engineering, maintenance, and facility operations at our manufacturing site. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, optimizing processes, and maintaining a safe, efficient, and high-quality production environment. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and plays a key leadership role in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across the plant. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Operations Lead Engineering, Maintenance, and Facilities functions across the plant Oversee all equipment, tooling, processes, and facility infrastructure Manage building systems, utilities, grounds, and janitorial services Safety & Compliance Promote and maintain a Safety-First culture Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies Drive continuous reduction of workplace incidents Team & Department Management Manage staffing, budgets, KPIs, and resource planning Develop and mentor engineering and maintenance teams Conduct performance evaluations and build team capability Maintenance & Reliability Ensure execution of preventive maintenance programs Maintain equipment readiness and uptime Support ongoing production needs with strong technical oversight Launch & Program Execution Lead cross-functional teams through new program launches Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Materials teams Ensure equipment, processes, and tooling are ready for production Engineering & Process Improvement Oversee Engineering Change Management (ECM) activities Drive process improvements and cost optimization Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, efficiency, throughput) Documentation & Reporting Ensure accurate documentation of engineering and maintenance activities Provide reporting on performance, progress, and improvements Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field 5+ years of engineering leadership experience in automotive manufacturing Experience in JIT assembly and sequencing operations preferred Strong knowledge of AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC) Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance tracking Hands-on experience with: Industrial automation (robotics, conveyors, fastening systems) Equipment installation and troubleshooting Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint Skills & Competencies Strong leadership and team development skills Excellent problem-solving and technical aptitude Data-driven decision making Effective cross-functional communication Continuous improvement mindset (Lean / Six Sigma background preferred) Work Environment & Requirements On-site role in a manufacturing facility Ability to walk the plant floor and work in both office and production settings Up to 20% travel required Valid driver's license required Why Join Us?
