General Summary The Senior Facilities/Building Services Coordinator oversees daily facilities operations, including work order management, inspections, vendor coordination, and maintenance documentation to ensure a safe, efficient, and reliable workplace. This role supports space planning and employee moves, maintains safety and compliance programs, provides emergency management support, and assists with workplace services, supplies, and small facilities projects. The position requires hands-on experience with facilities maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other critical building systems. Why GTI Energy? Work Location The position will be based in the Chicagoland area at the GTI Energy Headquarters and requires on‑site presence Monday through Friday. Additional on‑site attendance may be required to support operational or safety needs. Primary Responsibilities Lead day-to-day facilities operations, including work order management, inspections, asset tracking, and escalation of maintenance and safety issues Coordinate vendors and contractors across building services, ensuring service quality, documentation, and invoice accuracy Support space planning and workplace changes (moves, adds, and changes), partnering with IT, HR, and Security to ensure smooth execution Maintain EHS, compliance, and security programs, including safety walkthroughs, emergency preparedness, and required documentation Manage workplace services, supplies, and small facilities projects, while supporting reporting, KPIs, and operational data integrity Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics Working knowledge of building and facility systems, including HVAC, electrical infrastructure, ventilation, fume hoods, and gas delivery systems. General understanding of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements applicable to facilities and laboratory environments. Strong organizational and coordination skills with attention to detail. Effective written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple requests in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Microsoft Teams and SharePoint. Collaborative, service-oriented mindset with a focus on safety, reliability, and consistent follow-through. Education and Experience 8+ years of relevant professional experience with an Associate's degree, or 10+ years of relevant professional experience with a high school diploma 3-5 years of experience in facilities, maintenance, or workplace operations (preferred) Hands-on experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and other building systems (preferred) Experience coordinating vendors and using CMMS/work order systems (required) Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Pay Transparency The salary range for this position is $31.25- $39.25 USD Hourly. This hourly range is GTI Energy's good faith estimate, and the actual hourly/salary may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, GTI Energy's business or organizational needs and an individual's relevant experience, education, qualifications, certifications, skills, seniority, geographic location, and/or performance. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus. The range listed is just one component of GTI Energy's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, paid time off, and region-specific benefits.
