The Facilities Assistant is responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, and assessing the facility's accident, fire prevention, and occupational safety and health programs under general direction of the Administrator and/or Facilities Manager. As a representative of this facility, all comments, attitudes, actions, and behaviors have a direct effect on the center's image and perceptions of quality service. Interaction with patients, physicians, referral sources, guest, visitors, volunteer workers, co-workers, supervisors, vendors, etc. must be in a manner that is friendly, supportive, courteous, respectful, cooperative and professional. This behavior should promote an atmosphere of teamwork that is congruent with the center's standards and guidelines to promote positive relations. Responsibilities Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance on buildings and equipment. Ensuring a safe and functional environment, including testing security systems and preparing for emergencies. Complete work orders as assigned by the Facilities Manager. Act as a liaison between employees and contractors. Maintain service records for all work and/or inspections performed at the facility. Run routine safety inspections to ensure compliance with building safety and maintenance regulations and codes. Maintain office equipment, fixtures, fittings, and furniture. Coordinate custodial, landscaping, and security services. Monitor and manage facility access and safety protocols. Conduct fire, safety and evacuation drills as required to maintain compliance with local regulations. Respond to building maintenance requests in a timely fashion, complete or coordinate needed repairs. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Certifications/Licensure HVAC, Plumbing or Electrical licenses preferred but not required. Experience Minimum one (1) year experience in a facilities maintenance role; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in an ambulatory surgery center or other medical facility is preferred. Technical Skills Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and drywall. Ability to troubleshoot and analyze issues and make or coordinate repairs to ensure there are no interruptions to operations at the facility. Understanding of standard practices and procedures. Computer skills, including EMRs, Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Soft Skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
