Materials Recovery Facility Manager

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) Manager and lead the efficient operation of our waste sorting and recycling center. In this vital role, you will oversee daily facility activities, manage heavy equipment operations, and ensure safety and compliance standards are met. Your leadership will drive process improvements, optimize recovery rates, and foster a productive environment focused on sustainability and environmental responsibility. Duties Supervise the daily operations of the materials recovery facility, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to safety protocols Oversee heavy equipment operation including loaders, excavators, forklifts, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, and garbage trucks to facilitate sorting, loading, and transportation tasks. This includes operating the material handler and skid steer. Coordinate the safe use of machinery for tasks such as material handling, cleaning, and waste processing Manage sanitation efforts within the facility to maintain cleanliness standards and prevent contamination Train and supervise staff on proper equipment use, safety procedures, and efficient waste processing techniques Conduct routine inspections of equipment and work areas to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards Implement process improvements to increase recovery efficiency and reduce operational costs Inspect and report all loads that enter the facility Skills Proven experience operating heavy equipment used in manufacturing or waste management environments Strong knowledge of sanitation practices and cleaning procedures within industrial facilities Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while managing physical demands of the role Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate team members Detail-oriented with a focus on safety compliance and operational efficiency Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and reporting to upper management Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment This role is perfect for motivated individuals passionate about sustainability who thrive in hands-on environments involving heavy equipment operation.
