OPTOMETRY
(BL-OPT-IUBLA) Job Summary The School of Optometry is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Part-Time Facilities Support and Courier Assistant to support daily operations across its Bloomington campus locations. This is a part-time, hourly position supporting the operational and facilities needs of the School of Optometry. Department Specific Responsibilities Responsible for transporting materials between Optometry buildings and assisting with general facilities-related tasks to ensure organized, efficient, and well-maintained workspaces. Provides reliable courier services between Optometry buildings on the IU Bloomington campus. Safely transports equipment, materials, documents, and other items as needed. Assists with organizing and maintaining storage areas, including inventory movement and general upkeep. Supports facilities-related tasks such as light moving, setup, and coordination of materials. Helps maintain clean, orderly, and functional operational spaces. Performs other duties as assigned to support the needs of the School. Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
Required Valid driver's license and ability to operate a university vehicle. SKILLS Required Strong reliability and time management skills. Ability to work independently and follow direction. Basic communication skills and a service-oriented mindset. Ability to be dependable, organized, and enjoy a mix of independent work and hands-on tasks. Preferred Familiarity with campus environments or logistics coordination. Working Conditions / Demands Regular movement between buildings on campus. Combination of indoor and outdoor activity. Physical activity including moving and organizing materials. This position requires the ability to move items up to 25 pounds. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without accommodation.
