The role emphasizes hands-on custodial and maintenance responsibilities. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position with a five-day work schedule that may vary based on operational needs. The position reports to the Director of Facilities. 1. Building Systems Management Assist in maintaining mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and security systems. Carry out preventative maintenance tasks and help document maintenance activities. 2. Custodial and General Maintenance Perform routine janitorial and maintenance tasks, including cleaning floors, restrooms, glass, and common areas. Ensure all interior and exterior areas are clean, stocked, sanitary, and ready for use throughout the day. Provide general maintenance such as changing filters, light bulbs, and addressing minor plumbing or repair needs. Respond immediately to spills, illness, or emergency cleaning needs. Assist with snow removal and ensure safe access to facilities during inclement weather. 3. Grounds Maintenance Maintain grounds, landscaping, and outdoor areas. Keep all outdoor spaces clean, safe, and litter-free. 4. Building Use Support Set up and reconfigure rooms, classrooms, offices, and common areas for meetings, events, and daily operations. Support routine setup and teardown activities, including furniture movement and event preparation. Assist staff and ministry leaders with operational needs such as moving materials or equipment. Support special events including ministry gatherings, Vacation Bible School, and school programs. Assist in maintaining adherence to building use policies. 5. Emergency Response Respond to facility-related emergencies, alarms, weather events, and unforeseen issues as needed. 6. Construction and Project Support Assist parish leadership and contractors with construction, renovation, and facility improvement projects. 7. General Duties and Expectations Perform hands-on work as required to maintain facilities. Report maintenance issues promptly to the Facilities Director. Comply with physical demands including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in varying indoor and outdoor conditions. Qualification Requirements Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities. Experience in facility maintenance, custodial operations, or building systems preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Professional appearance and a welcoming, service-oriented attitude.
