As our company continues to grow, we are seeking a Facilities & Equipment Shop Manager to oversee shop operations, equipment readiness, fleet maintenance, and facility organization. This position is critical to ensure our crews have the tools, equipment, and support necessary to perform at the highest level. Position Summary The Facilities & Equipment Shop Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the shop and yard, coordinating maintenance and repairs, overseeing equipment logistics, supervising shop personnel, and maintaining an organized, efficient operation. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can prioritize competing demands, and takes ownership of solving problems quickly and effectively. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day operations of the shop and yard. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop, yard, and facility. Work closely with project managers, superintendents, foremen, and field crews to support operational needs. Manage vendor and supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and assist with purchasing. Maintain maintenance records, inventory records, inspection documentation, and equipment tracking systems. Manage equipment utilization and repair costs effectively. Coordinate maintenance and repairs for trucks, trailers, generators, power equipment, concrete finishing equipment, and tools. Track and schedule preventative maintenance, inspections, registrations, and DOT compliance requirements. Organize and maintain inventory of tools, materials, consumables, and repair parts. Return excess or incorrect parts and supplies promptly. Prepare equipment and materials for upcoming projects. Coordinate deliveries, pickups, mobilization, and demobilization of equipment and materials. Order, track, cancel, and manage equipment rentals by project. Review and approve rental invoices and ensure proper job coding. Identify facility maintenance needs and coordinate repairs. Supervise shop personnel and assist with training and development. Develop and improve shop systems, processes, and accountability measures. Respond to urgent operational and equipment issues as needed. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of management experience. Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems in a fast-paced environment. Experience coordinating equipment, logistics, scheduling, and maintenance activities. Computer proficiency in scheduling, inventory management, and record keeping. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to lift 50+ pounds. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and variable schedules as business needs require. Must pass a pre-employment drug screening. Preferred Qualifications Experience in concrete construction or related trades. Knowledge of concrete finishing equipment and processes. Mechanical experience with diesel engines, small engines, trailers, and construction equipment. CDL certification. Knowledge of DOT compliance and equipment inspections.
