ASSISTANT MANAGER OF FACILITY EVENTS AND RENTALS , DAPER
Facilities , reporting directly to the Manager of Events/Rentals, Sport Camps and Scheduling and working in conjunction with MIT departments, students, coaches, faculty, and staff, provides leadership and management for the evening and weekend operations of DAPER Facilities with a primary focus on managing and supervising athletic events; delivers event support services with all appropriate providers including catering, audiovisual, and custodial services; establishes work assignments for staff, attends and supervises events, and compiles appropriate data on the usage of facilities relative to events and rentals; works as part of the DAPER Facilities and Operations Team in the stewardship of department supported programs, services and buildings; and provides evening and weekend coordination and contact with the DAPER Facilities Team, Recreation staff, Intercollegiate Athletics, and Department of Facilities to provide high quality event, rentals, repairs, and custodial support. REQUIRED
: Bachelor's degree in a related field; a minimum of two years of relevant experience; experience in or an in‑depth understanding of athletics and recreation with direct experience functioning in support of events; a valid driver's license and current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification or be willing to obtain; additional skills and experience in employee supervision and computer operations; demonstrate and practice effective communication skills, both written and verbal; attention to details and their impact; demonstrated experience and preference for working collaboratively in support of shared goals; and be willing to work a flexible schedule in support of daily operations.
PREFERRED
: Knowledge of NCAA sport‑specific playing and timing rules; knowledge of Daktronics scoreboards; and knowledge of A/V equipment.
General Schedule:
Tuesday-Friday 1:30pm-9:30pm and Saturday 7am-3pm during the academic year, schedule subject to change based on facility and event needs, and during the summer. 6/5/2026
