Full-time - 32-hour/week with Saturdays About Us The Ann Arbor Kiwanis Club Foundation, Inc. (the "Foundation") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports individuals and other nonprofits in our community-primarily through the resale of donated goods at the Kiwanis Thrift Sale. In 2023 alone, we provided more than $1,000,000 in charitable grants and gifts. The Sale is open Fridays and Saturdays, while the work to prepare and process merchandise takes place Monday through Saturday. This is a collaborative, fast-paced, hands-on environment with a dedicated mix of paid staff, members of the Kiwanis Club of Ann Arbor, and committed volunteers. About the Position The Assistant Facilities Manager plays a key role in supporting the maintenance and repair of all facilities across the Kiwanis Club of Ann Arbor Foundation. This position is responsible for supporting the Facilities Manager as well as coordinating across all departments to ensure workflow is managed for staff, volunteersmembers where the facility is concerned. Primary Responsibilities Assist in managing routine maintenance, repairs, and improvements of building spaces, utilities, equipment, vehicles, grounds and tenant spaces Routine janitorial and housekeeping tasks for day-to-day building use Assist in maintaining facility security systems, including daily closing procedures Assist with setting up and breaking down needed materials and spaces for events Coordinate with operations and administration teams on project objectives Provide support for the Kiwanis Thrift Sale operations and donation collection Provide coverage in case of manager/co-worker unavailability Perform other tasks as assigned by the Facilities Manager Time Requirements This is a full-time on-site position with off-site work as assigned. 32 hours per week with expectation of the ability to work flexible days and shifts.
Typical work week:
four days 7:30am-3:30pm, will include Saturday shifts. Position Qualifications Required SkillsCompetencies Friendly, motivated, punctual, and organized. Commitment to safety, confidentiality, and professional standards. Basic understanding of utility systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC Basic understanding of commercial/residential construction applications and materials Comprehensive experience with hand and power tools using safe use practices Ability to represent the organization professionally when working with contractors and other members of the public. Ability to independently coordinate tasks and available resources to achieve objectives Good verbal, written and internet communication skills Attention to detail, with an emphasis on good workmanship and full completion of tasks assigned Ability to work collaboratively across teams and build effective working relationships Must pass a criminal background check and drug test. Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50+ pounds safely Ability to climb and work on laddersscaffolding safely Ability to drive and load materials in various vehicle types as needed Ability to stand and be moving on foot for majority of the workday Benefits Opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization.
