EOE Properties & Facilities Assistant A Growing and Progressive Community Health Center (with six (6) locations throughout the metro Detroit area) has immediate openings for full-time Properties & Facilities Assistant for a busy primary care practice in a patient friendly ambulatory setting.
Position Description:
Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Properties & Facilities Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our facilities. Your expertise will ensure that all property and building systems operate smoothly, creating a comfortable and efficient environment for staff and visitors alike. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical, electrical, and facilities maintenance skills in a fast-paced setting, supporting the overall success of our organization. Duties Assist with the day-to-day operations of property management and facilities maintenance, including repairs and inspections. Support electrical systems maintenance, utilizing electrical experience and schematics to troubleshoot issues effectively. Perform painting, welding, and basic carpentry tasks to uphold facility standards. Installs, operates and tests new equipment. Assembles, move and installs furniture and fixtures. Repair desks, file cabinets, chairs and other furniture fixtures. Conduct regular inspections of mechanical systems, plumbing, HVAC units, and safety equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards. Assist with facilities upgrades or renovations by following schematics and mechanical knowledge to ensure quality workmanship. Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal client requests promptly and professionally. Experience One to Two years of experience in building and equipment maintenance perferred. Knowledge of building maintenance concepts. Knowledge of public building and safety codes. Skill in reading operational instructions and diagrams. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
