DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

We are looking for a responsible Facilities Assistant (24-40 hours per week) who can help maintain the PARC main building, out-buildings, and grounds, and assist with setting up our Theater, Gymnasium, and conference rooms for performances, presentations, business meetings and other events. The successful candidate will be able to perform their duties efficiently, while frequently interacting with PARC Tenants and guests in a courteous and professional manner.

These examples are intended merely as illustrations of the various types of work performed) Daily maintenance as assigned of all PARC facilities, including restrooms, hallways, gymnasium(s), offices, Theater, conference rooms, and other common areas Conduct various routine tests and checks of the swimming pool and related equipment Responsible for general security of the PARC buildings and outdoor property, including making sure building is secure at the end of the day. Perform other general custodial/maintenance tasks including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, glass cleaning, dusting and vacuuming as assigned Responsible for facility promotion and positive public relations through interactions with the facility patrons Perform program set-up and tear-down as scheduled Ensure all possible safety measures are observed by guests Attend meetings and/or training as directed Performs other assigned duties as required

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Minimum age of 18 years old Previous experience dealing with the public in a mature and responsible manner preferred Reliable transportation required Previous community center or facility operation experience preferred Knowledgeable about programs offered by PARC-Plymouth Arts & Recreation Complex preferred. Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time; must be able to lift and carry tables and chairs and perform general set up tasks: 10 - 59 lbs: Frequently 60 - 75 lbs: Occasionally Over 75 lbs: rarely Strong organizational and communication skills required Ability to clearly communicate procedures, problems, and policies with fellow employees and the public in a tactful and courteous manner Ability to physically monitor all areas inside PARC, including but not limited to, stairwells, locker rooms and the three floors of the building as well as the immediate area outside of the facility Ability to respond to emergency situations; must be able to climb stairs to the 2 and 3rd levels of the facility to assist during emergencies Ability to work a wide variety of shifts including afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays
